Section 01
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar browser storage (such as local storage) works the same way. We call them all “cookies” on this page.
Section 02
Essential cookies (always on)
Sign-in session: keeps you signed in to your reader account until you sign out.
Cookie choice: remembers whether you accepted, rejected or customised cookies, so we don't ask on every visit.
Reading progress and event RSVPs: saved on your device only when you tick a schedule box or RSVP.
These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off, though you can clear them in your browser.
Section 03
Analytics cookies (optional)
Used only if you allow them, to understand which pages readers visit so we can improve the Guild. The site does not currently run any analytics tools; if we add one, it will respect your choice.
Section 04
Marketing cookies (optional)
Used only if you allow them, to measure Guild campaigns on platforms like Instagram and Facebook. None are currently in use; we never use cookies to sell your data or show advertising on this site.
Section 05
Third-party sites
Links to Amazon, Goodreads, Instagram and Facebook open their own websites, which set their own cookies under their own policies.
Section 06
Changing your choice
Use “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page, or the button below, to accept, reject or manage cookies at any time. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
